Does anyone know of a rental hall on the less expensive side in Western Suffolk (Huntington, Babylon areas) or Nassau (eastern side like Mineola, Woodbury/Syosset areas)?

Looking for:
- Dance floor and tables for appx 70 people
- Can bring own food and drink, though would be nice to have option of drink catering we would like to bring our own food

Price ranges or examples would be extremely helpful, if known.

Thanks!

Don't know what you mean by "rental hall", but you could try the Elk's Club in Huntington, Main Street and corner of Gibson (one block West of Heckscher Park).
Another one is the VFW Hall on Pulaski Road off Oakwood Rd. I happen to know that the VFW Hall prefers if you use their bar... bringing your own food shouldn't be a problem.
Don't know what current prices are, sorry.

A great value my family has found is the Bergen Point Country Club in West Babylon. They were very helpful and Reasonable. I believe i spent 300 for room with dance floor there food deals were reasonable and the golf course bar was good if your party was child oriented as those who wanted a drink could buy there own. 2 Sweet 16's, 4Communions, and a 50th wedding Aniversary

i went to a party once at a KFC in Huntington - it's on Wall Street. About a mile or two north of 25A. There used to be a VFW in Halesite, not sure if it's still there.

I think VFW, Elks, and KFC are your best bets along with firehouses if you want to bring your own food and drink.

twingles, the KofC is no longer there... and the American Legion (Hall) in Halesite is no longer active at that site either A sign of the times I guess...

I know its out of your requested areas, but we had our daughters sweet 16 in the KoC in Oceanside and I thought the price was amazing for the amount of food & level of service.

I think the VFW in Massapequa rents their hall for $400 and serves beer, wine and soda for $8/head with bartender service. If you want hard liquor it would be $11/head. You must cater your own food.

Prices may be different but that was the last I heard of what they charged. Hall is nice, newly carpeted with a dance floor.

I believe you can have events at Kaite Daly's on Merrick Road in Massapequa right down the street from the County Line. I went to an event there YEARS ago with music and drinks. Not sure how it is now but you can check it out.

Elke, I must be getting old!

The KFC in O'side does do a big business.

We had a party and have been to parties at firehouses. Usually a very good way to go.

twingles, it may also be the "neighborhood". Membership of the Knights dwindled in this area, including for the Columbiettes; the younger crowd is no longer interested and other "nationalities" have increased - and the real estate is too valuable... So now it's an office/medical services building Many fraternal organizations are hurting because of declining membership and if they own the building(s), taxes, maintenance and insurance can get out of hand if membership fees and event fees don't cover it.

I agree, it's usually a great way to go. One of the organizations I belong to always had parties and dances at the VFW on Pulaski Rd, until they moved to a church in E. Northport because prices were better.
