Has anyone owned or currently own a rental co-op out east? I would like your take on the experience. I am considering a studio or 1 bedroom for a long term rental investment. An example would be the Beachcomber in Montauk. Thank you.

You have to see if the board will let you rent it out. A lot of co-op buildings are owner only...example mine. I don't live anywhere close to "out east" though. My point is, anything involving a co-op you have to get board permission. You can't just do whatever you want.

Thanks for the reply. These resort co-ops are all rentals with on-site management. Generally these are rented by the weekend or weekly. Some are converted motels with a small frig, sink and microwave installed. Check out www.duneresorts.com. Click on hotel search. These units are individually owned and managed by Dune Resorts.
