Can anyone give an idea of costs (I have heard $650-$750) to get a survey done in Town of Hempstead? Also, can anyone recommend a good surveyor who is professional and charges a reasonable price? Thanks.

Who did the survey you already have? When we got an updated survey a few years ago the building inspector told us to call the company that did the current one and ask for an "updated survey" - it was $450. We used a place in Long Beach. Can't remember the name.

We cannot locate one. Is it possible the town has it on file and we could get it? We have plans from work done in 2004 but I do not see a survey and don't know if one was required.

If it's not in your closing paperwork then the town should have one. Not sure where you are but if you happen to get a cooperative gov't worker on the phone maybe they will give you a verbal. Whoever does the survey is probably going to want to see the old one anyway.
