Hi. I'm eyeing a concert on oct 30 in Farmingdale, specifically at the Crazy Donkey. I'm from out of town so I'll be flying if I go. But once I land at JFK or LaGuardia, is there a way to get to Farmingdale other than by spending a fortune on taxicabs? Does the Long Island Railroad go from those airports to Farmingdale, for example? Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me
You might want to take the AirTrain. It takes you from JFK to the Jamaica station of the LIRR. From there you can take an LIRR train to Farmingdale. However, you will probably have to take a cab from the Farmingdale train station to the venue.
Jfk will give you access to AirTran, LGA will not.
Also, if I'm not mistaken isn't Ronkonkoma on the F-dale line? Perhaps fly into ISP MacArthur and take train from Ronk to F-Dale? Anyone know if this works?
Btw, crazy donkey isn't a concert hall, it's a bar- and a horrible one @ that. Just my 2 cents. Anyway, enjoy the concert.

Teslarocker, the Crazy Donkey is on Route 110 (also known as Broadhollow Road) in East Farmingdale ("Farmingdale, NY 11735" mailing address), and would appear to be just to the west of Republic Airport.
While the Village of Farmingdale, as well as the Farmingdale LIRR station, is in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, the "Farmingdale, NY 11735" ZIP Code postal zone is much larger than the community whose name it "shares" and extends across the county line into the Town of Babylon in Suffolk County.

East Farmingdale is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the hamlet name in their mailing address: places in the Hamlet of East Farmingdale have a "Farmingdale, NY 11735" and "West Babylon, NY 11704" mailing address.
However, you will probably have to take a cab from the Farmingdale train station to the venue.
I'll live with that. I just didn't want to take a cab all the way from JFK or LGA to the crazy donkey. I don't believe in paying a ransom for cabs. ty all for the input
As others have said the AirTrain makes things much easier, but you can only get the AirTrain from JFK. So unless you get a much cheaper flight to LGA I would fly into JFK and then take the Artrain to Jamaica. From Jamaica take the train to Farmingdale on the Ronkomkoma line (just make sure the train stops at Farmingdale before you get on, vast majority will make the stop). From the Farmingdale Train Station its about a mile and a half or so to the Crazy Donkey. So you could either walk there if you are up for a long walk or take a cab which you can get right at the station.
ty all for your help. I just purchased my concert ticket, my plane ticket and my hotel room. I looked only for JFK flights since it's apparently the only one that does the air train. I'll be sure to ask about the air train when I get off my plane. ty all for the input. I really do appreciate it

Once you get to the baggage claim area you will see signs for the Air Train. Its pretty simple just follow the signs
Once you get to the Air Train, just remember to take the one that goes to Jamaica, the Air Train also services Howard Beach so you want to stay away from that one.
The cost of the Air Train is $5 each way. The ticket is purchased at Jamaica both times, so when you are going from JFK to Jamaica you purchase the ticket after you get off the Air Train, and when you are heading back to JFK you purchase the Air Train ticket at Jamaica prior to getting on.
