Just signed up for the SCPD test in June. They don't send out a study guide until April. Does anyone have any tips on what to study or what will be on the test?

You can't it's all common sense and psych questions.
I took the NCPD test back in the early 90's. They gave it in Nassau Coliseum and I would guess there were 8,000-10,000 people taking it. They gave you a clip board to take the test on. While people were getting restless waiting for the test to begin everyone started snapping the metal clip on the board, the sound was deafening and it took the speaker quite a bit of time to stop it. Actually, it was pretty funny.

Out of curiosity how do you know we'll be receiving books for this test?

I thought it was a joke at first but evidently these tests have created an entire industry, forget about MCATS and CPA, these companies have 30,000 applicants to draw from in just one county, there is real money in police prep courses.

It actually draws in from Westchester, NYC & Nassau as well. So, that's a potential population draw out of about 11,000,000 or so people...[With millions not eligible for a multitude of reasons].
