Bishop has no chance.

Mr. Altschuler’s representative, Rob Ryan, pointed out that most ballots in traditional Republican strongholds in Brookhaven and Riverhead have yet to be counted.

Riverhead has been counted, most of Brookhaven has not been (41 of the 294 ED's in Brookhaven have been counted).

Bishop narrowly won Brookhaven on Election Day, and out of the 41 ED's that have so far been counted in Brookhaven picked up 45 votes over Altschuler (the margin was Altschuler + 30 when everything else was complete, before the Brookhaven count started)

Altschuler's camp has also challenged more than 200 ballots than Bishop's camp has challenged. Most challenged ballots wind up counting, so unless Altschuler winds up being much more successful than Bishop regarding the challenged ballots, Bishop will likely pick up more votes from those as well.

Bishop has the lead by 15 votes, sounds like "they suddenly found a bunch of ballots in someones trunk" if you know what I mean ...

Ahh yes, nothing like conspiracy theories with no proof..

Its counting the absentee ballots. The GOP advantage among absentee ballots was less than the GOP advantage district wide, so from the outset it seemed very likely Bishop would pick up votes with the absentees.

Bishop is starting to pull away. He is up 206 votes, 1,912 remain to be counted, Also Altschuler has challenged many more absentees than Bishop (most of which will probably be overruled and then counted). Altschuler challenged 1,051, Bishop 714.

1st C.D.: Bishop ends day up 206 votes

Counting is finished. Bishop is up 235 votes (234 votes according to Altschuler). 2,051 absentee and affidavit ballots were challenged and not yet been counted. A hearing will be held at State Supreme Court in Riverhead next Tuesday on the fate of the challenged ballots. Of the challenged ballots 1,261 were challenged by Altschuler, 790 by Bishop.

This is basically over.

1st C.D.: Counting over in Suffolk, Bishop leads by 235
