I need a new survey. Anyone know what this costs? Is this one of those fixed cost things where everyone charges the same?

I paid 650 a few months ago. I had a second quote for 750. There is some price differences from different surveyors, be aware that guys in local areas have most of the records for that area, so its usually better to go with someone local. Guys from out of area may not have access to the historical records which are part of the surveying process.

bank estimate is about 500.

I am having one done in the upcoming weeks and paid $450 for a company in glen head, ny. My lawyer might have known somebody to get a deal or maybe that is just what they charge.

I had one done 5 years ago for $450. I asked for an "updated survey" from the company that had done the last one.

Apparently the price does depend upon if it's a new survey or updated survey.
In my case it's an updated survey and i'm paying $500.
