My husband loves New Jersey, but I want to move to LI to be closer to my family. He needs convincing. If you can tell me of any towns with great school systems, houses with large properties I would really appreciate it. Money isn't an issue. I just want to show him that Long Island is just as nice as Bergen County.

Thanks!

Default Long Island

Is a great place to live. If money is no object than you should check out Brookville and Upper Brookville. 2+ Acres of property for about 2 mil on a low end house.

LI is nice, but it all comes down to $$. How much $$ are we talking about you spending on a house here?

Default Need to convince to move to Nassau County

I forgot to mention that I want to move to Nassau County. Our $$ range is from 700,000 to about 1.5 million. He wants land and I want water...I'll settle for more land and no water if it means moving to Nassau County.

Thanks again!

Not sure what you mean by a lot of land. Is an acre a lot? I tell you, you will have to look for land in Nassau county. And it will cost you. Good luck with it.

I would recommend Dix Hills or Northport...could get an acre, reasonable prices, close to Nassau.

That's a big price range...South Shore you can get alot of land in Hewlett Harbor or Hewlett Bay Park and be 10 minutes from great beaches...definitely in the upper end of your price range!!! give it a ook

If money is no issue and you're interested in a true community with a great Main Street atmosphere target Northport. Take your husband there on a warm, sunny day. Be sure to walk up and down Main Street and stroll out to the end of the pier in the harbor. On the way out turn down Burt Avenue and stop when you get to the cows (they'll be on your left). If you have children that will pretty much seal the deal. There are areas with nice sized lots. Also take a drive out to Eatons Neck for even better property sizes.

We just moved away from Northport because unfortunately money was an object for us. However there is no better place in the region to live.

Default WOW. Northport

I just looked at the houses out there, and wow...thank you so much. Although it's in Suffolk county, I think the properties more than make up for the inconvenience.

Thank you so much for the information.
