Gun powder was found on Dawns night gown, suggesting that she had fired a gun that night in November 1974.

Sorry, I don't buy it.
As Gpsma said there are murder victims found with unburnt powder on them who never touched the gun. Particularly can happen when the gun was fired from close range, which in this case it most certainly was.

Such a sad and horrible story, but plenty of people out there still trying to make a buck off of it by coming up with weird scenarios. The facts really do not back up these stories.

The bottom line is that one really screwed up dope addict went wacko.

Friend of mine knew DeFeo as a teen. He was screwed up even then. No surprise when the killings occured. He was a loose cannon that should have been in a mental hospital.

Still, I believe there was a case in the South somewhere where it was found that the daughter was involved with the murder of her parents along with the son who did go to jail. "Cruel Doubt" (I think) was the book about this by Joe McGuiness.

Yup.
They just had some whacko documentary about him on A&E or one of those cable channels where some psychic cleansed him of the evil or some screwey thing like that. It was a total roadkill show. He looks like crap. I'd say his days are numbered...

He have never shown any remorse. One time he said his mother did it, in the 90s he said his oldest sister did it. Then he said: There was no ghost, no demon, period. Just cold blooded murder.

If you dare read the book: THE NIGHT THE DEFEOS DIED: REINVESTIGATING THE AMITYVILLE MURDERS by Ric Osuna.

The documentary was called AMITYVILLE: THE FINAL TESTAMENT...Lol

He has also said that it was self defense that the family "was out to get me"

He is a pathological liar, he has always stated he felt no "paranormal presence" in the house. Now hes terminally ill and claims he indeed was possesed.
