Hello All,

I'm new to this forum but from what I've read, this is the place for the best advice. So here is my question. My family and I are looking to move to Kings Park in the next few months and we are wondering about after-school programs for our 5 year old. Can anyone advise us of programs that may be available thru the schools and thru private programs? Thanks!

New Discovery Early Childhood Center (newdiscoverykids.com) has after school care and summer camp programs. There is also a local church that has programs but I can't seem to find the site for that anymore. Where in Kings Park are you looking to buy a home?

We weren't looking in any specific part of KP, we loved the Town, parks and proximity to the water and started looking at homes for sale in the Kings Park School District. I think i did see the New Discovery Kids website but I think it's just up to Kindergarten age for the school year.

Kings Park is a very nice area that has quite a bit to offer, including good schools, and relatively affordable homes with good sized properties.

Good luck in your search!!

I noticed that too, but they have busing from the elementary and middle schools so that leads me to believe they have programs for older kids too. The Kings Park library also has excellent programs for children and adults and you get access to four branches - Kings Park, Smithtown, Commack, and Nesconset.

The Kings Park Central School District includes more than Kings Park.

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Kings Park Central School District includes all or part of the Hamlet of Fort Salonga, the Hamlet of Kings Park, the Hamlet of Smithtown and the Hamlet of Commack.

My son goes to BEST and my daughter went there as well. It is technically considered Smithtown and I highly recommend it.
