Most working class families on Long Island earn between $50,000 and $100,000. In an working class area such as Deer Park the median Household income is around $65,000. So that means there are people above and below that number.

well according to wikipedia, upper-middle class is around 90k-300k, around that. I don't know why people on this board increase that a lot. I know Long Island is expensive, but I'm saying this salary range is based nationally.
You can have $10 mil in the bank but that does not mean you are upper class. There is many new money people whose families will be back down in class to middle/working due to the lack of blood class/over spending. The next generation determines if a family has what it takes to maintain the class hike. Lots of new money kids get involved with drugs or have a overwhelming instinct to become the peasant that they were born to be. Money earned is not the exclusive determiner of class. Also consider blood, family and morals.
My definition of Upper Class is enough capital invested to live off the interest/dividends without working. It is also someone who respects their family and places their families respect/tradition above their own personal wants/needs.
True. There is more to class than how much money is earned. It also depends on how the money is spent. There are so many factors that determine class:
1. Income: how do you make your money? from dividends or wages
2. Where did you go to school? or college? Yale or Nassau Community College
3. Where do you live? in Old Westbury maybe Brookville or Levittown
4. How do you speak? do you say dinner jacket or tux
5. How do you dress for work? suit and tie or blue jeans and t-shirt
6. Your height, it does matter? The taller than average or average or below.
7. Where do you go on summer vacation? Marthas Vineyard or Hershey Park
8. What sports do you like? Tennis, yachting, golf or football and basketball
9. What do you read? the Wall Street Journal or the Daily News
10. Where do you keep your boat? at the yacht club or in your driveway

what does height have to do with class? I'm confused.
