Aside from the basic "because they *can* move him? While NPCD is quite happy and proud to tout their DWI numbers, the same cannot be said about the officers. Locking up drunks can be a dirty business, and post arrest phone calls complaining are not unheard of. In a nutshell, DWI Cops aren't too popular, even with, and sometimes specifically amongst, their peers.
Fair point but I get the feeling they really don't want to take action against their own unless its really blatant. I still think there had to be more to it if they could actually discipline him with PBA representing him. I don't think the union would have allowed that if they didn't have a case. He is 57 years old isn't that a little unusual, seems like he was allowed back in to set up his retirement, also 8 hours to complete a DWI lockup.
At the moment, the average teacher’s pay is on par with that of a toll taker or bartender. Teachers make 14 percent less than professionals in other occupations that require similar levels of education. In real terms, teachers’ salaries have declined for 30 years. The average starting salary is $39,000; the average ending salary — after 25 years in the profession — is $67,000. This prices teachers out of home ownership in 32 metropolitan areas, and makes raising a family on one salary near impossible.
NCPD PBA's latest attack on teachers to deflect attention from their bloated compensation
Has anyone heard the latest ads (print and radio) by the NCCL (Nassau County Coalition of Labor), which is essentially a puppet of the NCPD PBA?
They try to deflect the attention from the bloated compensation of the Nassau County Police Department by saying how, of a $10,000 tax bill only $800 of it is for county services. Of course, no mention is made of how all of the sales tax goes to the county, and how much Nassau Residents would save in sales tax.
I do find it funny how this NCCL (and de facto the PBA) have no problem attacking the public schools. Personally, I'd rather overpay for a teacher to hopefully produce great results with the children than pay a cop 30%+ more than necessary for no good reason.
I did not see this ad. However we are looking to move to long island and from the tax bills we've seen the county part is 3000 or more on $10000 tax bills. The police portion and police headquarters are 1200 of the 10000. I have a copy of a tac bill right in front of me. We have family that are ncpd and I wasn't aware how much they earned until I found this website. They do hard work however, we should not demonize the police.

Pba is right. 73% of my bill goes to overpaid teachers and superintendents who hide in a classroom or office all day.
People pay more for their monthly cell phone bill then police fees in Nassau.
Yes, true, however there are only 2400 NCPD, and everyone in Nassau pays for them.... Dont let the amount fool you, its like saying that if everyone in this country donated $1 to me, Its only $1... but I would have $300,000,000... thats still alot of money to pay me for no reason...
