Slow night in southern Colorado? Seriously, though -- what is happening in CO with water shortages? Is it impacting you there?

"Many" might but paying 5% or so doesn't stop anyone I know from complaining. It's a LI tradition. Traditions are both comforting and habit forming.

No water shortages here been raining for 2 weeks and the LaPlata mountains are white with fresh snow.I used to operate a clam boat in the great south bay in the late 60's and left after pollution closed the grounds I worked.I abandend my boat as a thousand went up for sale in one day.My family all still live and struggle on LI so I check in here now and then.SW CO is always slow and my yearly prop taxes are 650 a year on a 4 br Victorian in town.My brother on LI pays 13000 a year. Go west young man worked for me. I am a carpenter, wrangler, ranch hand now and work maybe 6 mos a year and live fine for an old man.

Can wait to move out West and take a $300,000 a year pay cut to save a few grand on taxes.

Actually my daughters Elementary School Principal makes 350K and her husband is a Principal in a High School and also makes 350K. So together they make 700K a year.

teachers would be taken a 500k pay cut to move down south.

Oh..I know all about the salaries here. Teachers make so much less than their NY counterparts...plus no unions. So, you screw up.....cya!!!
Cops , Firefighters.....make one mistake, and bammmm...gone.

P.S. I would love to have a 700K pension down here. I can get a lot of moonshine for that kind of money. :P

The Big shot who is a women who is in charge of the whole school district in my town retired from another school district with a 500K a year pension and is not in charge of our school district at a salary of 400K a year. We got a bargain as no double dipping NYS pensions so we dont owe her a pension.

So she is taking home 900K a year and best part, she is a housewife whose husband has a full time job.

Some folks are pulling down crazy money. 40% of homes on Long Island last year were cash purchases. Which says a lot considering the average price of home.

I sometimes have laugh at some people saying that LI will be the next Detroit. The island has A LOT OF WEALTHY PEOPLE living on it. People with "stupid money".
