In today's Long Island Daily newspaper page 22 lists all Nassau & Suffolk School Superintendent's salaries & benefits.

Hewlett-Woodmere's Super gets an amazing $76,467 in just benefits! Can anyone find a copy of the contract? I can't imagine the different benefits to add up to that amount of money!

What is so surprising? Didn't you see the recent Wall Street Journal expose on the same level of benefits being extending to Nassau Cty cops? This kind of benefit package is rampant across the public sector in Long Island.

They didnt have it (Contract) on SeeThroughNy.com?... Sometimes its worded in a such a way that its hard to put a monetary value on the items in question.....

But this is great... Its awesome to see that the superintendents and the public sector are doing so well.. I say shove it to the taxpayer... Lets suck em dry.....

Default Oh that's nothing ... LOL ... Husband and Wife School Superintendant Team

Let's look at some COLD HARD CASH coming in to this husband and wife "Dr." superintendant team.

Husband: 2010 Pension (Commack SD) = $316,245

Husband: Annual Salary (Malverne SD) = $225,000 (note: the latest contract available was only for 2008-2009, so this is probably more)

Wife: 2010 Annual Salary (Locust Valley SD) = $285,208

Grand Total of Couple's Income Derived from Taxpayers = $826,453

I guess it's safe to say this CIVIL SERVANT couple are millionaires at least a couple of times over courtesy of the taxpayers with that kind of cash coming in the door annually.

Now the question is?

Are they worth it?

I doubt it.

It's a private, exclusive club, the hierarchy of public education on Long Island ... and if this doesn't prove it, I don't know what does.

Can you post a link to that or is it just a print newspaper? I cannot find "Long Island Daily."

The silver lining is they are probably forking over about 300K in taxes. That is the states way of thinking, Madoff style: Payout 800K, collect 300K.
