There is some relevance to knowing the hamlet of a business, though zip codes and actual mailing address makes more colloquial sense since that is what you will use to get to that place.

Roosevelt field mall has a Garden city zip code, but is really not in the village of garden city, so technically does not pay taxes to GC. So the closure of borders might have an impact on salisbury taxes ( probably the east meadow school district).

There are two entrances -- the other is on Merrick/Post Ave (west side of the park) close to 1800Flowers. The entire park is in East Meadow and it cradles Salisbury. The dividing line (or what appears to be) is Salisbury Park Dr.

It fell out from the cushions on the deck chairs.

Yes, the Hamlet of Salisbury is in the East Meadow Union Free School District.

They had sold their Canadian operations a year or two before buying Pathmark and had money from that. They bought Pathmark, and guess what? They hit the iceberg.

Went to the Commack Borders today and used up my gift cards. I'm not going to head to Syosset or Stony Brook to shop there so that will be it for me as a Borders customer. It was nice knowing you.

The supermarket closures are the tip of the iceberg. With Target now selling groceries and Wally World not far behind along with the wholesale clubs, how can supermarkets compete?

A lot of Waldbaums are getting the same way. I wont go to one unless I am desperate or need like 1 thing that Stop and Shop doesnt have.

Its a shame because Waldbaums was really great before A&P took over.
Yeah I never cared much for Pathmark either. Waldbaums used to be good but they are getting run down too, though it varies alot by store.
Shop Rite is still my favorite chain, I wish they would open up more stores on LI.

Well supermarkets still have a much better selection of fresh items versus Target. Where are you going to get fresh meat or fish or bakery items at Target?

I think people are going to places like Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Wild By Nature and Uncle Guiseppes for fresh meat, fish and bakery items, because they're better than what most super markets sell nowadays.
