Hello all -

I am looking to return to Long Island and am to be based out on the North Shore for the company I am working for.

When this contract is initiated, we will be required to move ASAP.

I am wondering if someone could contact us about renting houses (not vacation homes, which is what we keep getting) on the North Fork.

We want something reasonable (yes, I understand the issues involved in living anywhere on LI - I lived in Belmore for about 10 years) and would like:

2 Bedroom minimum, garage (2 car?), and (hopefully) a full basement or outbuilding for my hobbies.

Ideally it would also have space for a vegetable garden (in ground or above ground, depending on whether the land is available to cultivate) with the requisite sunshine to that area the majority of the day.

Please email directly if you actually know someone dealing in this sort of thing - or, send my email address on.

Thank you in advance.

PS: I have read several threads about "renters not paying taxes". If there is someone who wants to discuss that further, I would be happy to cater to their concerns directly as well.

Currently, there are only off-season or seasonal rentals on/near the North Fork - nothing year-round.
How far "west" or "south" of the North Fork are you willing to go? Also, do you have a budget??
