I went through my closets and took out a handful of designer bags that I bought like 5-10 years ago and no longer use. I usually donate my stuff to charity, but I feel like because this is higher end stuff, I should at least try to see if I can get some cash for them first. I sold a few on eBay, but I find the whole online process kind of annoying. I'd like to bring it to a consignment or second hand shop and sell it that way. I took a bunch of stuff to Buffalo Exchange in Chelsea, but they would only buy stuff that is currently very on trend (if it was currently on trend, wouldn't I be wearing it instead of trying to sell it?) Does anyone know of any shops in Nassau County that will buy pre-owned designer bags? I heard there's a place in Rockville Centre, but I tried googling it and couldn't find it.

Hi Sneakyvegan,

I love consignment! Here are two links (hopefully I am allowed to put them up!) of Newsday listings of consignment shops on Long Island. There is a place in Rockville Center listed also.

Next to New Boutique at 59 W. Main Street in Oyster Bay is one of my favorites.

Have to second the recommendation for the place on W. Main St. in Oyster Bay - it's a fairly large store, by consignment standards, so they have more room for stock, and the store tends to focus on more classic stuff, so it won't matter as much that the bags aren't "on-trend."

The place in RVC is called Twin Hearts Vintage, if memory serves.
