Thank you guys, this is exactly the input that I was looking for!

and Walt, I understand that the school that my kids will be going to is not the same school that most kids in Mineola will go to, but that was part of the plan!

(and nice touch with "the kinder".....im a member of the tribe, long standing !!! Have to find a new temple in the area as well, looking at temple tikvah on hillside ave)

Maxxel's closed last Fall.

Mama Theresa's has excellent food and very good pizza (they don't deliver), but be warned that it's almost always a zoo in there (especially Friday evenings during Lent!)...also, don't worry about ordering a big attitude with your pie, because virtually all of their pizza guys will supply it to you free of charge.

I concur with some of the other posters - The St. James is a good place to eat.

Default MINEOLA School District

The MINEOLA School District is a wonderful school district.......great academic sports programs, award winning cultural arts programs, great teachers, super advanced technology programs......talented students. It is a hands on school district that recognizes each student's strengths and weaknesses. It has a strong Guidance Department with strong support for students entering college (i.e., college tour trips, etc). If people truly educated themselves about the district, they will realize it is a gem in Nassau County. This on top of living in MINEOLA with all of the great things happening there is a choice you may consider......beautiful library, resident only pool, well kept homes, beautiful parks, wonderful village services,
great sports programs, etc.
