Check out the kid's Facebook page ... damn he was one messed up kid. His nickname was "Goat Milk". Of course the anarchists and other assorted freaks come out to his defense, all bashing the cops and ignoring the fact that this freak was walking past Gannons and McCoreys scraping his knife against the window, and threatening people walking around the area.
according to news reports, he terrified a woman waiting in a car, with a hockey mask and maschetti (spelling?) ala jason from friday the 13th. he ran away when she refused to allow him access to her car. she then called the police. I dont know why the mta officer was involved. it didnt happen on the train nor mta property.

I think he was also causing trouble at the train station (which is right near where the shooting occurred). At any rate, MTA Police officers are sworn police officers and have full jurisdiction anywhere in NY and Connecticut so it dosent really matter why they responded.
I was unaware the mta police can go anywhere in nassau/suffolk.
The SCPD and NCPD may not like them on their "turf", and they may throw a hissy fit like they do whenever a Suffolk County sheriff's deputy makes an arrest or a traffic stop; but yes they can. Just because they are the 2 biggest police forces on the island doesent mean they are the only "real" cops. I suspect this incident will make things even worse unfortunately.

Wow
Did he know the woman?
Even still was it equal force...did this have to go down like this?
Menacing is different than attempted murder
I heard they chased him up the track.
Is there more of this Satanic stuff there.I remember the stuff in Northport back in the day.

Don't start spreading nonsense about relations between the agencies, especially since you have no idea what goes. MTA Police Officers have the same state-wide powers as all other police officers and work all through Nassau, Suffolk and New York City. Relationships between the MTA cops and County cops are good. There are no turf battles and no "hissy fits" among any of the agencies and this incident will not impact relations between them.
just spoke to a cop and he said they are only allowed to make arrests within 1000 feet of train tracks.
Not true. MTA cops have statewide police powers, just like all other police officers. And just like other cops, they have limitations on where they can take action for minor offenses.
