There is no way it is leagle. Go over there and raise your hand and tell them to stop. This isn't leagle. You want to see all permits, co's, and everyone's license.

Also make sure their contractor has current and paid for insurance and check all the workers' ID and make sure there are no illeagle aliens working there.

Don't forget to make sure the land is not an Indian burial ground.

Great Idea. go in and demand to see licenses, insurance, workers Comp. maybe run some background checks, greencards. This works great b/c

1) you have the authority to request this
2) this is totally your business and it affects you significantly whether the contractor is licensed and insured, up to date etc
3) this is in no way profiling

none of the items above are any of your business.

if there is constant contruction going on, either A) make a complaint to the town. B) find out if they have a permit and check if its current.
C) complain to the neighbor and ask when things are done.

as someone who is having construction done on my house. Everything takes longer than it should, longer than I want it to, and longer than the contractors tell you it will. No one invloved is really happy about that and would love to just have it done as well.

Please cultivate a sense of humor before blasting people.

You seem to have absolutely no sense for irony or sarcasm. Not even to the deliberate misspelling of "illeagle."

Think about it, did you REALLY BELIEVE the "advice" of mine you attacked was serious? You really did? It's amazing that you don't get it, yet NYEconomist, Pequadude, kayfouroh do (they were all making jokes in the same vein), and I think the rest of the C-D readers do. At least there were no ham-handed blasts from anyone who didn't. Sometimes it is good to practice a little discretion.
