North Bay Shore is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the hamlet name in their mailing address: places in the Hamlet of North Bay Shore have a "Bay Shore, NY 11706" mailing address.

I live in that area and have had no problems. My neighbors are all great and do look out for each other. I love the new water spray park at the Bay Shore Marina. Bay Shore has a mixed of all kinds of homes and people of all races and income levels but it is not seedy in my opinion or run down, it's unique in a way compared to other towns. I love the Main Street. It's as safe as any town in Long Island, no one is in a safe bubble anywhere in Long Island much as they would like to believe.
