Perhaps you need to do a bit more research about your passion for hot
dogs, and to where your addiction might be leading you. My uncle passed away two years ago, and although he was only 57,
had been a hot dog afficionado from his teen days when hot dogs were only 25 cents at Ebbets field where he was also addicted to
the Brooklyn Dodgers games. The medical examiner who performed the post mortem autopsy was able to carefully track his death,
directly to his penchant for weenies and thus, listed the manner of death as directly resultant of his undying love for the common
frankfurter.
I wanted to pass along this information to you because, when I was young like you, I too had developed a great love, but my
love was for cigarettes. I remember seeing Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite giving us the news on our 9" Dumont television, with
cigarettes dangling out of their mouths while broadcasting! Eve Ralph Bellamy was doing commercials for Camel cigarettes, dressed as
a physician (stethoscope and all), telling us how good and satisfying they were, those innocuous sticks of tobacco that that were yet
to be called "coffin nails" or "cancer sticks". My point is, that as young adults, we often go into our passions completely unappraised and
totally unaware of what were doing to our bodies over the longrun. I sense that you seem to going into a love with hot dogs, with wild
abandon, that you really haven't stopped to count the costs of your affair with them. How would you feel, having to come home some
day, only to tell your loving family, that your love affair with tube steak was terminal, the result of your excesses, a reflection upon the
foolishness of your youth.
I'm leaving you two links below, the first link will enlighten you to the dangers that you may face as you go even deeper into that
bottomless abyss which awaits those who succumb to addictions like this. Please read and consider this avenue of information that I'm
offering you, in the same, well intentioned spirit by which I have reached out to you. Personally, you might try floating a new thread with
a poll which will give voters the opportunity to discuss the petition that you are proposing. The other thing would be to provide a link to
your petition so that we members may sign on to your cause. I admire your loyalty to the hot dog industry, the effervescence that exhudes
from an obvious passion, or just a plain fascination for them, and the refreshing enthusiasm that comes with your every post.
