I just learned that D'addario, maker of guitar strings, are out in Farmingdale. Pretty cool since they are one of the more popular guitar strings out there and sold world wide.

That's true.
Computer Associates used to be near Hofstra and I think they moved out to Islandia? Snapple used to be here too but I think they got bought out by Quaker Oats and they're gone.
I have a daughter that works for the NPD Group, a global market research compeny with headquarters in Port Washington. Employees over 700.
Great corporate environment with excellent benefits

Cool. I think Luxxotica and Apple and Eve is in PW also, makes sense with the rail.
(Wasnt Snapple there once too)
There a bunch stuff in Lace Success too which baffles the mind.
I cant understand the benefit of going there. So far west that its of no benefit to 75% of LI...so far East that without RR that its useless from the City. Maybe they have some tax benefit or something.I think Canons bailing for Melville though.

Does anyone know what happened to Pall?
Canon has been in LS for probably 40 years though and it is the NA HQ so at the time it was probably more important being closer to the city. The groundbreaking in Melville was almost a year ago and I think the new facility is something like 700,000 sf., right on the LIE and just east of 110.

Those days are over. Still makes no sense without the rail.
Have you seen the new facility?
Is it that huge thing off the South service rd?
Yes, it used to be Schmidts farm I believe. I have seen some of the plans, obviously a lot of "green" technology. The old HQ is spread out through several different buildings so this will be a nice upgrade. Regarding the rail, there isn't any rail near the new place either.

True ...but like you said they dont need the city anymore.
