When I'm out east, I like the Southampton Publick House personally. They're featured as Newsday's daily deal today.

It's good, worth a visit if you haven't been. HUGE portions, one platter is enough for two (or three maybe). The apps are massive and tasty as well. You're better off going with their "$25 per person deal" where you pick one of each course off a special menu, rather than ordering a bunch of various stuff off the main menu; which can get expensive. Desserts A+. Atmosphere feels a little like the mafia is serving you though.

I saw that episode of man vs food LI edition too just recently. It's on youtube

Actually none of the places on the list I care for except red lobster sometimes. My favorite sit down restaurant is Tellers Chop house.

I would love it, too if I didn't need to sell internal organs on the black market to pay for it....

You don't need to sell your in ternal organs to go there LOL. But then again I don't know what you are able to spend. At least go there one time.

Have you ever been to Your Mother's House???
Its in Garden City Park....it's not a chain or anything but the food is great, and they have a 20 foot screen TV! It's ridiculous! Also a great bar with about 20 beers on tap.

Vincent's in Westbury (or Carle Place?)

Cheesecake Factory (large portions, great selection, good prices, great taste) - don't care that it's a chain, the more the merrier

EDIT>> oops I already posted in this thread last year! And said CF already... I guess it must be true.
