One of my favorite sit-down places was Green Fields. Loved tasting all of the different proteins they would bring over to your table on giant skewers. I see there is one in Corona but I always went to the one on Rte 110 in Melville/Farmingdale (now the Melting Pot).
When are we getting a Cracker Barrel?? I can name a few places where they can stick one. LIE Exit 68 Wm Floyd Pkwy (right off the expressway) or Exit 73 in Riverhead! I'd be there all the time.
For now my favorite Long Island restaurant (non-chain) would be O'Mallys in Southold.
It's been a long time but I always liked Gasho of Japan. It is a little pricey for a family of four but the kids love the tricks and stunts.
