Upper Port has seen a large influx of 'immigrants' and the folks in lower Port turn a blind eye as long as it doesn't impact them.

True.

Which BTW is really super unfair to PJ Station since they get all the BS for it.

The train station right there leads to the confusion. I know I am guilty of it.

I have defended PJS for the unfortunate misnomer.

If I were them I'd make a motion for Terryville and force PJ to own its own mess.

Do upper Port residents attend PJ or Comsewogue schools? IMHO if PJ schools had issues with children of people of questionable immigration status, upper Port would be cleaned up.

The Highlands, while in the Village, go to Comesewogue so I assume most of upper Port does as well.

There's a world of hurt on the horizon for PJ Schools with the LIPA plant closing though. The low tax train is leaving and a lot of those folks who were banking on artificially low taxes to afford their homes are going to get hurt. I wouldnt be at all surprised if they merged.

Bulk of Taxes LIPA Pays Go Toward Port Jeff School District - Port Jefferson, NY Patch

Great big ouch.

If it came to be, I wonder if PJ would try to re-merge with Mount Sinai? The lower PJers would be aghast at the thought of merging with Comsewogue.

Mt Sinai wouldn't dare touch them with that balance sheet around their necks.22k per kid is pure piggish.

I have heard rumbles of Administrative Consolidations across MS/MP/RP/SWR.
It will come down to next years State Aid.
