The point of this whole discussion was about how the Tea Party are self serving and serve no purpose especially in this case. Our friend quickly took offense and went someplace else. The basis of your movement is less government and less taxes. You support people that call for the fed to stop spending money and cut taxes and reduce social programs, however the as the original post questioned where were you when you have a public official making more than the governor of NY and probably the president of the United States. Secondly as others have brought up where were your signs calling for your fellow members to take up arms on budget day so that these budgets could be defeated. Don't tell me if the towns can pay for it let them or that if you did not vote for the 3% they would pass the contingency budget and impose 9%. Your movement according to every truth as told by Fox news is about doing and saving this great country from the evils of the socialist president that wants' to spend at all time (bush wars)-(no we cannot just put saddam back in the whole and tell him to count to 1million and walk away) Do something about it run for school board seats like you ran for congress and the senate and some state offices to change this great country or is school spending not an issue as long as your children are in school. I know once your kids get out of school then spending will be a problem.

He has no answer to this video. While there may be racists that try to act like they're in the tea party, that is not what the grass-roots movement is about. Using race as leverage is pathetic. If someone doesn't agree with Obama's policies, does that automatically make them racist? If you wanna know what it's about, just google Ron Paul and Campaign for Liberty.
2nd, the TP bashing bait.. The Tea Party is not responsible for what isolated local school districts are doing in their districts. While it's an absurd amount of money for a Supt and does indirectly affect all districts on LI, it's really Syosset SD's problem. The Tea Party is not going to go around and pick apart the millions of local issues in every single municipality in the US. That would be impossible.
Think about it.. what if the Village of 'INSERT ANY NAME' decided to renovate their village pool and hire 2 additional life-guards at a cost of $1.5M dollars. Would you expect the tea party to attack the mayor of that village and its residents? You could literally find MILLIONS of examples like this, I just threw out a random example.
What the Tea Party does focus on is bigger issues like putting in the right politicians that push tax revolt+lower spending, county level taxes, state level taxes, federal level, large municipalities (eg-MTA), reigning in union abuses ... That's where the corruption starts, at the highest level and filters down. Things that affect everyone and by doing so changing the shape of politics across the board.
You don't kill a snake by going after the body. This supt is a microcosm of the real problems we have. I can tell you how they would respond: "NY can overpay its public workers if they want...but don't come to the rest of the country looking for help when your pension fund goes bankrupt".

We have a duopoly, anyone that's followed Paul for at least a little while knows why he runs Repug. I agree, the TP was hijacked.. I knew it after the tax cuts for the rich passed with flying colors. Very disappointing but it's still a force and mostly legit. People can usually weed out the fakes.

Oh man this get's better. I had no idea the Obama administration authored the Patriot Act. The document that guides government intervention without real just cause in our lives. You know I learn something every day. I had no idea we no longer had our civil liberties in this country, I guess better stock up on food and water and make sure I properly armed for when the day of reckoning comes.

According to the New York Times/CBS News poll, “the Tea Party movement burst onto the scene a year ago in protest of the economic stimulus package and its supporters have vowed to purge the Republican Party of officials they consider not sufficiently conservative and to block the Democratic agenda on the economy, the environment and health care.”
At the same time, the poll noted how the Tea Party supporters’ have “fierce animosity toward Washington, and the president in particular, is rooted in deep pessimism about the direction of the country and the conviction that the policies of the Obama administration are disproportionately directed at helping the poor rather than the middle class or the rich.”
Also, the poll showed that the overwhelming majority of Tea Party supporters say President Obama “does not share the values most Americans live by and that he does not understand the problems of people like themselves. More than half say the policies of the administration favor the poor, and 25 percent think that the administration favors blacks over whites — compared with 11 percent of the general public.”
The poll is shocking in its findings that Tea Party members “are more likely than the general public, and Republicans, to say that too much has been made of the problems facing black people.”
