Filling a pool, grading and grass seed all done for -$2000. That includes Bobcat rental.

Good for you! But not everyone is as handy as you

There are other things that come into play here IMHO, for instance:
  • where on the property is the pool located
  • how easy is access
  • what are the dimensions of the pool - takes a LOT more fill for a 24x44 9ft deep pool
  • whatever equipment you need for grading
  • comfort level for handling a Bobcat
  • time for the project

We have an inground pool in upstate NY and enjoy it from mid May to end of Sep. Although we have a heater, we rarely turn it on as the sun heats it up just fine. Most of our neighbors also have pools. For the enjoyment we derive, it is not an expensive deal. $15K is very excessive for filling it in. Last I had fill, it was about $100 a dump truck.

Yes, this is all true. I recently paid $36,000 to have a bedroom window caulked.

Shhhh! That was a special deal. You weren't supposed to tell anyone the price I gave you.

I dont know what 'caulk' is on a window, but at that price, it must be important. Can you give me the number of the person who did it? I have to call.
