We're losing our younger people. More of them are planning to skip town as well. In the end, you need those younger people to take over those houses, to send their kids to school, and to support the infrastructure.


Taxes, high COL, and poor job market all play a part as well.

It's a combination of reasons.

In no particular order:

death
divorce
downsizing
moving up
job transfer
loss of job*
illness*

*in today's economic climate both can lead to short sales or foreclosures

The question was why people are still selling. Most of the young people you're referring to don't own a house yet, therefore they aren't selling...

One he is asking why are they so many so first of all in your experience is that a true statement? Hence my question has the market increased, decreased, or stayed the same? I'm not from here recently moved so I have no baseline for an opinion.

My question is re "the market"; are you referring to prices or number of houses on the market?
