We *demand* that Mexican immigrants "assimilate" by learning and speaking English (this is America! we exclaim by thumping our chest). Yet, no one demands that Orthodox Jews NOT call going to the synagogue a "schul" and refuse to use the Anglicized Hassidic instead of chassidish. Why a "heimishe company" and not a "Yiddish" one?
Perhaps it is more "frum" (oh, I mean pious or devout). But why is Yiddish ok, and Spanish is not?

the examples you give are just isolated words - it really takes cojones to equate that to using spanish (or Yiddish) as a daily language. But thats the zeitgheist today. Its takes a certain Je ne sais quois to do that.
SOME hasidim DO use Yiddish as their daily language. I suspect thats less of an issue than Spanish cause A. There are relatively few of them, and they almost live in greater NY and B. They arent pushing for bilingualism, generally.

That's great... I can't wait until they have pegs and streamers! Maybe they can put a Hank Greenberg rookie card in their yarmulkes to make a cool noise as they zoom down the street.
I just don't understand why people can't be respectful of others and walk on the side of the road.
Whatever happened to decency and common courtesy?
