I just dont like how they re-designed the store. When you call their store, they practically BLAST their music on the phone if you are placed on hold.

If you walk in to shop there, you feel like you are inside a TARGET instead of a mall. Then the music they play while you try to shop is just AWFUL. Totally GHETTO music at loud volume! The quality of the items they sell have gone downhill, I feel like I can find nicer clothing at WAL-MART!

I have stopped shopping at JCP for just those reasons, bargains be da**mned. The experience there is just aggravating I am taking my business elsewhere~~

I thought it looked a little strange when I was in there 2 weeks ago during a visit. Never a huge Penney's fan anyway because of the way all the merchandise is jammed together.

Anyone remember the old stores like Sterns, Caldor or JCPenney from years ago, when they played peaceful, elevator type music on a low volume in all stores? you know, music they labelled as EASY Listening!?? The music they were playing was straight out of Z-100, 92.3 K-rock and 103.5 KTU. Music thats appropriate for a house party or a BBQ, not shopping for work pants ! I was there on a Tuesday night and the music was so loud, I couldn't hear my cell phone going off in my front pocket much less the other person who I spoke to on the other side. I even complained to a clerk at the cashier and all she did was shrug and say "da's how dey do it here now..new policy, yo'..."

Trashy, ghetto and a complete turn-off. Bye bye JCP, you lost a long time customer.

Ha ha, that is funny. I could understand that it is loud but to say z100 is too heavy? Z100?

I am in the city 5 days a week, sometimes even in the *gasp* outer boroughs. I even use the subways but I usually hold someones hand and keep my eyes closed. I will listen for it next week, thanks!

Yeah god forbid they cater to the kind of people who typically shop there.
