First of all you don't leave a 1 year old by themselves in a car ever, in any weather! (especially in an unlocked car!) I think even the most liberal parents would agree with that!
Also it wasn't just hot yesterday, but insanely hot! One of hottest days ever! How could anyone in their right mind think it was ok for anyone to be in a parked car for any length of time without A/C?
Unless she was so exhusted that she totally forgot that the kid was there, I really think there is no excuse for this. I mean come on, its not like she had 5 kids and forgot about one. This was her only child! It looks though like she did it knowingly.
