Any thoughts on the race for sanitation commissioner of District 2? Community activist Ralph Rose, a lifelong Baldwin resident, is challenging another local man, incumbent LeRoy Roberts. Who do you plan to vote for and why?

We plan to vote for the most qualified for the position. Leroy Roberts... who is also in shape for the position..WE BELIEVE THAT ANYONE IN A POSITION TO SAVE,HELP RESCUE INDIVIDUALS SHOULD HAVE TO PASS A HEIGHT/WEIGHT AND A HEALTH AGILITY TEST ONCE A YEAR SO THEY(THE RESCUE PERSONNEL)ARE ACTUALLY ABLE TO RESCUE PEOPLE FROM FIRES/TRAUMA/ACCIDENTS/ETC...ll th

Come on here people.... all firemen, commissioners of any kind, police, emts,etc....need to be in tip top shape!!!!!!!!at all times... Why are they permitted to fall out of shape.. and in such a huge OBESE WAY!!!!! Disgusting... I wouldn't want to come face to face with someone sooooo out of shape when I needed to be rescued.. I would decline it.. Save myself..

Other than being in good physical shape, what, in your opinion, makes someone "qualified" to be a sanitation commissioner?

Balancedact, cool to see someone involved and aware of an obscure local race. Sadly, the typical American is more involved in voting for higher offices, even though their vote counts more for local office, and often has a greater influence on their lives.

Of course, a cow was once elected Water Commissioner of St. Olaf, Minnesota (defeating her owner! )
