Anyone else get one of these certificates in the mail?

"In recognition of the daily display of the American Flag at ____, Town of Hempstead, County of Nassau, State of New York, A greateful township extends its highest commendation and praise."

So is the town paying someone to drive around, look up properties and mail crap to people that have a flag up? Oy.

I guess Kate Murray needs some positive news after the Animal Shelter mess and then one of her on duty public safety officers gets arrested for DWI after killing an pedestrian. Lets hope one of her politically connected supervisors ensured that these "flag checkers" were sober before they went on their hunt.

I received one as well and thought it was interesting that they looked to see what houses are flying the American flag. The funny thing is, I don't see any publicity about it. Any one else see a public announcement?

They have been doing this for years, the GOP committeemen, foot soldiers are the spies.
Another giant waste of money but pales by comparison to things like the TOH Dept. of Tourism.

The answer is to keep electing them.
