... Service Merchandise? It was a "catalog showroom" where you would fill in your order on little pieces of paper and then wait while someone picked it out of the warehouse. I remember a big one in Oceanside. They are now an online only entity:

Hills! Holy moly......my brother and I used to go into the one at the South Shore Mall in Bay Shore and bite the ends off the Italian bread and then turn it around and slide it back in bag.
