Any one with information on a good oil company in Suffolk County. I'm thinking of locking in soon with a full service company. Been doing the cod thing with a service contract with a firm that does'nt sell oil thinking of tring something differant this year. Thanks
I've been using Fire Island Fuel for 2 years now and am really happy with them.

The COD thing has saved me a lot of money since getting off my contract aprox 5-6 years ago. My Brother-in-law just got hit with an $800 oil bill. He had a contract and they came and topped off his tank.
We just got a $700 oil bill. I have a variable contract with a cap - and it seems they always deliver at the cap price. I thought oil prices had gone down? I ended up paying $4.05 this time!
Haven't had oil since I moved to my current home, but for 17 years, I used: Marran Oil 631-654-2500 and was extremely satisfied. ALWAYS honored their locked in price (even when prices skyrocketed) and service was excellent, regardless of when it was needed - on weekends, in the middle of the night, or holidays! Family owned company (fourth generation?).
If I should ever own another home with oil, they'd be my first choice.

Will still disagree with you on this... had Marran for 2 years after taking over from previous homeowner. Had 2 overfills that they had to clean up, one inside and one outside. And had to wait 15 hours for a no heat/no hot water call in the middle of the winter. Granted it was a weekend but they didnt show up until 12:30am Sunday night, monday morning.

I'll take your word for it; sorry about your negative experience with them. I was merely stating my personal experience over a 17-year period. (I too took over from previous homeowner.)
