Contact UPS with the Notice number and arrange for it to be held at their facility to pick up, or arrange the redelivery for a day you will be available to sign.
if you miss the 3rd attempt it'll be sent back to the UPS location for hold.
just go to that location and pick it up yourself if you do indeed miss the 3rd attempt.
This is no longer correct. I missed a package 3 times (driver refused to leave it without me being there) and it was immediately sent back to Amazon. I called them up and asked them to explain it and they couldn't. I hate dealing with UPS. Good luck.
I've called UPS while the truck is on the route and they've re-routed the driver to get to us more quickly. Done it in NY AND here in NC - they really aren't that hard to deal with, but they aren't mind readers. Call them.

That's what was going to happen to me. I had a computer ship 2 weeks early, while I was away. My son was home, going to school and work so he signed and left the tag out. UPS came, left another tag. He signed, left instructions to leave with neighbor across the way who was home. Came the next day and left another tag -- computers have to be delivered to the address on the label. Since he would ba at work the next day, he called me on vacation, I called UPS (box in my name) and explained the problem. They can't leave computers, even ith the signed release. They did allow him to pick it up in my absence as I was be away.

That only works if you get the notice early, though. I've had hit or miss luck doing that. We have a regular UPS guy who will flag you down if he sees you when you've missed a delivery.
