100-300 village dr. in Ridge are condos, I knew someone who lived in there. Its a tough area back there.
If your looking for condos stay away from Strathmore, thats off of Smiths Rd.
There aren't a whole lot of condos in Ridge. Off of Whisky Rd in Leisure Village there are nice condos for a 55+ community. Thats all I know if your looking for a condo in a "nice" area in Ridge.
Have you been to Ridge before? Are you stuck on Ridge? If your not from the area I'd be happy to tell you similar towns that are much nicer then Ridge!
What's bad about that area? What towns are better than Ridge but close?

Longwood School District is fine. It is not good nor bad, it is "just" fine.
The only negative I have is that there really is no "main street". THankfully on Long Island you never have to travel far to get to a major outlet of your choice but with that said you arent around the corner from any.
I live in a very nice neoghborhood, the house cost about $300,000. 3/4 acre of flat property. Taxes about $7500. Only two houses for sale in a 6 block radius (I always look at that as a good sign).
If you are going to spend $375,000+ with taxes of $8500 plus, then I think you can find better areas. Overall for me, a house at the price point, in the neighborhood, in the school disctrict, it was a great fit.
el77, Whats bad about the condos in that area? There ran down and the people weren't that friendly. If you have young children I don't think you would be happy back there.
Other towns I would recommend in the Ridge area would be Yaphank and Shoreham. Both towns are close by.
Yaphank- Affordable housing, quiet and wilderness feel, the lake is nice for kayaking and having a family picnic (there is a park with picnic benches), along main street there are a few nice neighborhoods, a chase bank, gas station, and restaurant and grill on the lake. Every December the town is decorated for Christmas and the community organizes a holiday parade marches down main street. In Yaphank you have quick access to I-495 via exit 67. Most of Yaphank is in the Longwood CSD.
Shoreham- From what I heard the housing is a little more expensive that Ridge or Yaphank. Your taxes are going to be more around the 10k area. But in Shoreham you are closer to the north shore and beaches. Along 25A you have access to almost everything you can think of. In Rocky Point there is a Walbaums, Kohls, Bakery, etc. In Shoreham only along the southern most part of Randal Rd (where it meets Whisky Rd) is in the Longwood CSD. The rest is in Shoreham-Wading River school district.
Hope this helps a bit. I don't know if your from the area but when you visit you'll notice there isn't much to Ridge.
Also check out homes along Longwood Rd. Its nice in that area of Middle Island.
I wouldn't recommend looking elsewhere in Middle Island or Coram.

PM me if you have any questions about the area.
Shoulda went with Rocky Point there Guy.
; )
JK Ridge is a damn good buy and Longwood SD is not the horror show that is being portrayed on this board.
Truth be told I think if you found something on 3/4 plus (good luck on flat) on the North Shore youd be around 10-12. Like I said if Ridge went to RP MP or SWR SD ...Id already live there.

3/4 acre. That's great. That's not easy to find is it?

East Shoreham is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the community's name in their mailing address: places in the Hamlet of East Shoreham have a "Shoreham, NY 11786", "Ridge, NY 11961" and "Wading River 11792" mailing address.
