oh gosh, we pay over $10,000 in property taxes and live in Longwood school district. Our children go to catholic school, but one gets resource reading which is approved by longwood. Recently there has been a change ; if the parochial school is in a different school district than you live in, that school district is doing all the iep's and paperwork.

So anyway, in June I get papers to sign, they are signed and returned. Yesterday I get a registered letter with copies of the same papers. Why the registered letter ; I already have the copies.

When I asked why it was necessary to send it registered ; each envelope cost $5.38, the gal said she was just doing her job.

And we wonder why there is so much waste?? Regular mail would have cost at least $4.00 less.

You do the math.

While I hear what you are saying, today people are so sue-happy that everything has to documented and double checked. I mean, why do I need a receipt if I pay cash for a pack of gum at the supermarket? They are likely covering their asses so that down the line someone can't complain about something.

Well, after paying my taxes, I just might have to.

(That was a shout out to all the haters out there).

I agree about waste. Our library will send 'overdue;' notices without a blink of an eye (all those postcards add up) instead of doing a shelf check for items. I can't count how many times I have returned books/videos then gotten that stupid 'overdue postcard.' (in addition to getting emails).

gypsy are you in Pat Med library? They do the same thing. Now I ask for a receipt when I bring the books back because I one time was told I never returned the books and that I owed 20 dollars, I said do a search and guess what they found all the books and they also found they were returned early. I never had this problem in any other library system.
