I know someone that was down there Sunday and they said one of the tunnels was filled with about 6' of water. He did not get to see it up close but thought he heard that the main concession stand on the Ocean side was badly damaged.
would also like to know, as the phone number has nobody picking up.
Went down there tonight at about 6PM. The beach looked like a storm came through but no serious erosion. Wonderful sunset and the water is quite warm. Also, a few jellies were noted.
I heard its open and I really hope so....my wife is a teacher and she's having a "tan line crisis", in her words.....if she wasn't so occupied with mani-pedi's and shopping during her THREE month vacation, I wouldn't have to hear about this crisis Irene caused.
yeah actually we were there after I posted... no real erosion except the water came up much higher than usual and the sand closer to water isn't ideal for setting up so basically the beach was "smaller". Other than that, all good.
