Erosion and silting, perhaps? The coastline is dynamic and by extending the district boundaries a certain number of yards out into the water, it may prevent a home in one district from winding up partially in another if deposits extended the property?

I question the plausibility of it being mineral rights as I would think that the Town of Brookhaven's Dongan patent would supercede the school district's rights.

I think you've asked an excellent question.

QUESTION TO MARK LESKO :

Why are you looking for a "replacement" for Town Board Member Steve Fiore- Rosenfeld ?

What did he do ? Granted,"Upper Port" is trashed beyond repair.

Who are you going to pick for the Town Board in his district ?

Who is telling you, to pick someone to "replace" Steve Fiore-Rosenfeld ?
