Anyone upgrade their car stereo or have it in their car from brand-new?

How's the reception? Not really that interested in much around here anymore, my tastes are more alternative than WBAB and WBLI, but still curious how it is for people around here on LI.

I went satellite instead. A lot of dedicated channels, including alternative.

My car is a 2001 so I would not know about HD radio. I listen to a few stations but mostly I pop in a CD. latley there is nothing on the radio. Same crap over and over is played.

IMO you would be better off getting a radio that supports Bluetooth and stream your own music to it.

Because.....AM and FM radio is filled with commercials and "personalities" yammering like they're relevant?

You know what else they have that normal AM/FM radio doesn't? Monthly fees and overpriced radios.

Id rather pay for the sat radio than listen to the garbage on AM/FM. I currently have sat radio in both my cars and only listen to 2 or 3 stations. Well worth the $$ every month to hear the type of music that I want without commercials.

As for the OP's question, I havent heard it, but unless there is a genre being broadcasted in HD that you cant get on FM, than I wouldnt bother.
