The Mobil in coram at 112 and Pine has been at $4.59 forever, too and the gvmt took down their price gouging program so you can't even report them I'll never go to a Mobil again.

I find I get the best mileage on Sunoco gas for some reason.

i mentioned this in another link. Couldn't understand why a gas station like sunoco would have prices of 4.59..especially when across the street it's 50 cents less...it's a no brainer..
I try to use Shell now even though its usually 10 cents higher. because it's listed on that top tier site.
I have this belief that it helps keep the carbon down and so you won't have to use a fuel injection cleaner. But i probably don't know what i'm talking about.

It is not price gouging. An example of price gouging would be if gas station A across the street lost their power and gas station B raised their prices a dollar per gallon to take advantage of the fact. Gas stations can charge whatever they want, it is up to the consumer what they are willing to pay. The Mobil in Centereach is 70 cents more than the gas station across the street, and the others in the area as well. I would never pay that much more for gas and the pumps are usually empty. They do have a service station so maybe they make their money that way.

I bet Mobil Exxon gas stations are set up as a different entity and they use all these non making money stores as a tax write off.

Meanwhile as a whole they make billions.

I always thought they had some membership program with discounts.
My grandmother has a shell gas card, and she tells me it's cheaper to buy gas at shell because she gets a discount when the card is used.

Just drove past the Mobil in question, in Centereach. It was at $3.97/gallon, down from $4.59 yesterday. Odd.

I used the Mobil at Patchogue/Holbrook Rd & LIE and it's been $3.99/gal ($4.29/premium which I need) for weeks now. I don't even think about it I just go there when I need gas. Don't really pay too much attention to the price.

I went to the shell on Bayshore road today and the price was $3.87 a gallon and with my stop and shop card I got 30 cents per gallon off. So I paid $3.57. a gallon.
