From NEWSDAY, Wainscott airport gets FAA nod for tower

For those who may not be familiar with Wainscott ...

A map of the Hamlet of Wainscott in the Town of East Hampton, Suffolk County:

The Hamlet of Wainscott has a different border than does the "Wainscott, NY 11975" ZIP Code postal zone (i.e., a place can have other than a "Wainscott, NY 11975" mailing address and be in the Hamlet of Wainscott)": places that have other than a "Wainscott, NY 11975" mailing address that are in the Hamlet of Wainscott have an "East Hampton, NY 11937" and "Bridgehampton, NY 11932" mailing address.

As per the article linked by the OP, it is just a summer control tower for the "season," so "non-Mammonites" will probably not be using this airport much.

No. It's not in any way a commercial airport.

NOOOOO! Nothing like MacArthur.

There are no commercial flights.

Think private jets, charters, helicopters.

It's only open for the summer Hamptons season. It only has 3 runways.

They do not want it to be "for the masses." Trust me on that.
