Are there any towns that exist on Long Islands North Shore within Nassau County? Budget would be no more then $500,000 for single family home. Is this possible?
Glen Cove as somebody already mentioned. Port Washington you may want to look into also.
And if you ever want to expand your search a little (which you will definitely have to if you want more variety) then take a look at East Northport, Elwood, Huntington Station (if crime is not a big issue to you), South Huntington and Greenlawn in Western Suffolk. If you expand your search a little further then you'll have a lot more variety and leg-room.
Port Washington has 25 homes listed for sale in the 350K-500K price range. Schools are much better than Glen Cove (though Glen Cove schools aren't that horrible, just middle of the road)
surprised people consider Syosset "north shore" since it's the next town from dead center Plainview. Is Woodbury north shore? Or do you guys just mean north of center? Is Bethpage south shore?

I was thinking the same thing because to me they are central LI.
