Just like I wouldn't want anyone to make me believe in their God or to believe what IMHO is a book of contradictory stories (the Bible). Yet I accept and respect anyone else's right to believe these things.
When I said accept I meant it as in accepting someone else's beliefs as their own, not accept as in accepting the fact that they believed something different. I completely accept the fact that other people have a right to believe in whatever they wish to believe in. However, I don't think that just because someone believes in something, that gives them the right to force that belief on other people. Nor do I think it gives them the right to mock what the other person believes. Basically a 'Let's agree to disagree' philosophy.

We all are born with different "gifts". Some people never develop their gifts, while others acknowledge and nuture their gifts. Psychic ability comes in many different forms. Just as artistic or musical ability is passed down in families, other abilities are also.

As an aside, watch your pets. Animals will not deny or try to hide their abilities.

Many people who live on LI are from NYC, or their parents were. To hear someone with a thick New Yorkese accent on LI, is not uncommon. I like her because she has a good sense of humor about it all.

I really enjoy watching that show alot! It's just touching to watch pple's reactions n all. Anyway, I can't vouch for her but I personally had my own experience with a psychic and she was right on about everything! I mean it was just a surreal experience, it was like she was reading my mind! she was telling me things 5 yrs ago that are happening right now. I haven't gone back to her in 5 yrs because the experience really was too much for me to handle!

Yes. Spiritual encounters should fall under the purview of religion, and instead they shun it. We should not have psychics making a fortune in this field, I think. There is something degrading in the concept. Some say that psychics lose their abilities, gradually, when they make start charging for it.

Never heard that, about losing abilities once charging. Interesting. I wonder if it's self-inflicted, based on guilt (?).

I would love to see a functional MRI on a psychic during a reading. I wonder if their brain has a part that works differently than us regular folks. Maybe they're very empathetic toward people and can pick up what they're thinking, (and maybe there's no spirit involved at all). Or, they're so empathetic, they can "feel" from both sides (living and nonliving).

There have been cases in which the medium relays info from the departed as to where some lost or valued object can be found, so since the patron did not know this info I doubt if it is mind reading.

This fellow I knew did readings from time to time. He did not charge and only did it for small groups or individuals and asked us not to mention it to others. He, on one hand, wished people would believe that there is a whole other side to reality, and that we do not die with our bodies, but he also was a very private person and had a 'regular' job, since he did not charge for readings and wanted to keep the respect of his peers. Those whom he worked with loved him and he had a huge retirement party.

He was part German and part Indian(from India). He was adopted and his family believed in these things and encouraged him. They also kept their interest quiet because of the ridicule factor.

I have the feeling that there are probably a number of people like that - who do not 'come out' in public because they have no desire to make money from their talent nor do they have an ego need to strike others with awe at their abilities.

I remember, years back, seeing the movie, 'Resurrection' which sheds some light on that attitude.

Thank you, Corky.
I enjoy the View but do not always watch it. I wish they had made a future prediction for Joy.
So, the government is still using psychics even though they claim that they closed down that Remote Viewing operation.
