In my opinion Newsday hides behind her to incite discontent, class warfare, and racial hatred on the Island. She's a black female and from what I have seen that makes her untouchable to any complaints generated.

Its newsday, they are wrong or make mistakes on 50% of the things they say/publish. They are as far left as you can possibly go

Also Newsday doesn't tell me anything I need to know because they are partial to Nassau and western suffolk counties. pothole in long beach? full page article. 17 car accident with 2 deaths in lets say...East moriches? doesnt even get a mention. Awesome coverage.

As far as she goes, I agree with what everyone else has said so far- just though id share my utter hatred of Newsday as well.

I think your right on. Newsday has always been very far to the left with their editorials; just check out all the letters they printed today about the language debate - all were written by Hispanic 'community activists' or by naive liberals. Her sole purpose with these articles seems to be to incite further racial divisions. She should put down Saul Alinksy's Rules for Radicals and read the US Constitution instead.

Newsday eventually fired Les Payne so maybe if enough people complained they might at least ask her to tone it down a notch?

@ YDsvaged, there's a saying that Newsday and News12 don't report on events past Route 110 in their reporting. I think it's true

I don't think any of their subscribers that are left are complaining. They are the ones Newsday is catering to. The Enquirer does a better job covering news then they do. Joy is good at stirring up hate and discontent. Her life must be miserable.

Of course she can get away with it because if any of us disagree, we're 'racists' or misogynists.
That "column" (for lack of a better description) made me see red also!

Most of the comments from the readers were great though!

Can you imagine what kind of email she must get?

It probably gets deleted. Just like Newsday doesent allow comments to be posted on articles related to immigration, terrorism, or any hot button issue. Typical Newsday, the only opinions allowed are their opinions.

She's awful, and not because of her political leanings. She's simply not very talented and has her job for obvious reasons.
