What about other conditions people are self certifying they don't have: heart conditions, amputations, strokes etc. Then you have dementia . Shouldn't NYS require a physical from a doctor to rule out other underlying medical conditions that could cause difficulty driving?

How about an Englich proficiency exam so we know everyone can accurately read traffic signs to prevent accidents from happening?

I wonder how much $ the optometrist association gave to get the eye test put back in place?

Just because you pass a physical or eye exam does not mean you can drive well. Most people are stupid when it comes to driving. They drive with their head up their butt.

The decision is being delayed as its being looked into.

The eye tests were not required from 1993 until 2000, quite a few other states including Connecticut and Pennsylvania do not have the requirement.
