Like we needed another reason for the rest of the country to dislike us !! Where do these kids come up with $1500 anyway ? I was lucky if I had five dollars in my pocket in high school.
What would be proper punishment for these young wrongdoers ? Walking around the student center of the schools/colleges for a week wearing large signs around their necks stating "I cheated on the SAT " ???
I was impressed with the test takers consistent high scores though ....

The parents probably had something to do with it too. Think about it. The teachers in Great Neck complain about how little Susie's mom marches into every PTA meeting asking why the teacher isnt giving their precious little Susie A's on all her homework assignments.. The parents are probably loaded, and have no issues making sure their kids have every possible advantage when it comes to competitive college admissions. They pay enough in property taxes in Great Neck, whats another thousand to guarantee an almost perfect SAT score?

This doesnt surprise me..i imagine there are kids cheating like this across the country. The only difference is they havent been caught.

Cheating...why not?

The board of education, their staff, and the politicians cheat and steal everyday.

Maybe if they led by example...

Don't worry too much about it being strongly associated with Long Island. I live on the West Coast, saw the story, and never paid attention to where the kids were from.

Yeah, he's a real genius that kid, using the same handwriting on all the tests he took.

The problem lies in the fact that too much emphasis is placed on SAT's and Standardized Testing scores. It causes extra stress for students and is a money making machine for College Board. These SAT scores do nothing more than serve to improve college rankings. My daughter scored a 2100 total however her highest grade was in the Reading and Writing portion. Although she did get into a good private college - the acceptance was based more upon overall grades plus an interview and community service. And why is there a 'writing' portion on the SAT's if NO COLLEGE even takes it into consideration?

These are kids who drive BMW's to school and who regulary let the teachers know that they have a trust fund that equals more than the teacher will make in a lifetime. I know someone who used to teach at that school, the level of arrogance and entitlement is staggering.
