That may not be a bad idea. How about after a certain number of speeding tickets your license is suspended for six months and you have to go to a driver education program.

We need to enforce all traffic laws as strictly as we do DWI. You will see the accidents and deaths on the roads decrease significantly.

Nice. We should have a fast lane for drivers that can handle it on every parkway...and slow lanes for old farts, sunday drivers - and kayforoh.

I've probably done faster on my old bikes than you've done in your car.

Well then you must have broke 120 somewhere on the 135. I'm just playing around with you, but serious about the fast lane. Why not? Left lane is minimum 55, max 75.

I'll plead the fifth on giving actual numbers, but yeah I've definitely broken that, not on the 135 though. I'm not proud.. young and stupid plus a 636cc motorcycle = dumb things. I've moved on

Sure, I'd support bumping the speed limit... but then I think it should be like the HOV lane, rather than just a lane with a different limit.

The LIE is 71 miles long. If you chose to drive 75 miles per hour as opposed to 55, you would save a whole whopping 18 minutes in driving.

Now for those who are in such a rush...if driving the whole length of the expressway saves you a whole 18 minutes...why do you need to speed between a few exits...at probably higher speeds than 75mph.

Most speeders are just too stupid to figure it out. Then after they get a ticket, they whine and cry on here that they need to find a cheaper insurance company.

Need a camera for drivers doing the speed limit in the left (PASSING) lane. Should be NO speed limit (or 75) in the left lane, 55 in the center and right lanes. People need to learn how to drive, not pay fees to the granny state to enforce an idiotic law that is not based on actual rules of the road. Passing lane, travel lane, exit lane...know it, learn it, live it.

The acccidents are less from speed than from PASSING on the right to get around the dimwit in the left lane doing 56.
